Applications are now open for Free & Reduced Price Meal applications for the 2025-2026 school year. You may use the attached forms to apply or for more information about food services or information on how to apply, go to THIS LINK.
In the Chehalis School District:
- One lunch and one breakfast are free at James Lintott Elementary (grades K-2), Orin Smith Elementary (grades 3-5) and Chehalis Middle School (grades 6-8). A la carte items or second meals will be charged to your student's meal account.
- At W.F. West High School (grades 9-12) students pay $2.10 for breakfast and $3.75 for lunch unless they have been accepted to receive free or reduced priced meals. Second meals and a la carte items are also charged to the student's meal account
- Students will not be turned away for lack of funds in their meal account, but the cost will be added to their accounts and families will be billed.
Eligibility for free and reduced priced meals is by family income. Please be sure to read the "Family Letter" and "Income Guidelines" to see if your family is eligible. We encourage all eligible families to apply, even if your student attends a school where meals are provided for free, because the forms can also qualify you for other assistance (the Consent to Share form must be filled out to apply for other benefits).
If your family received free or reduced price meals in the 2024-2025 school year, those benefits will expire on Oct. 13 unless you reapply.
After you apply, you will receive notification that the district has received your application and whether or not you qualify. We have 10 days to process your request, so if you do not hear back from the district within a few weeks, call (360) 807-7200 to confirm we received your application.
